The Government of Belgium (Flanders) offers the Master Mind Scholarships for outstanding international students. This program aims to promote Flanders and Brussels as top study destinations by providing full tuition grants and additional financial support for living expenses.

2. Scholarship Details

  • Financial Support:
    • Full tuition fee waiver.
    • Annual grant of €10,000 to cover living expenses, accommodation, and insurance.
  • Duration:
    • One academic year for a 60 ECTS master’s program.
    • Two academic years for a 120 ECTS master’s program.
  • Payment:
    • The grant is paid in installments.
    • Scholarship holders only pay an administrative enrollment fee.

3. Eligibility Requirements

  • Academic Criteria:
    • Applicants must apply to a Master’s degree program at a Flemish higher education institution.
    • High standard of academic performance with a GPA of 3.5 out of 4.0.
  • Language Proficiency:
    • Good knowledge of the English language (specific requirements on the official website).
  • Admission:
    • Acceptance by the host institution is required to receive the scholarship.
  • Nomination:
    • Applicants can be nominated by only one Flemish higher education institution.
  • Nationality and Previous Education:
    • All nationalities except Russian.
    • Previous degree must be from a higher education institution outside Flanders.
    • Students already enrolled in a Flemish institution are not eligible.

4. Required Documents

  • Personal Documents:
    • Passport photo.
    • International passport or national ID.
  • Academic Documents:
    • Curriculum Vitae (including GPA out of 4.0, publications, academic awards, etc.).
    • Transcript of records (certified translation if not in Dutch, French, German, or English).
    • English language test results or exemption letter from the host university.
  • Application Documents:
    • Letter of motivation in English.
    • Two signed letters of recommendation from professors or recent employers in English.
    • Copy of acquired diploma(s) (certified translation if necessary).

5. Application Process

  • Steps to Apply:
    1. Check Eligibility: Ensure you meet the criteria and that your chosen Flemish institution participates in the scholarship.
    2. Submit Application: Apply to the host institution.
    3. Preselection: The host institution preselects eligible applications.
    4. Mobility-Online Tool: The institution creates your application file in the Mobility-Online tool.
    5. Notification: Receive an email if preselected for the scholarship.
    6. Register and Complete: Register in the Mobility-Online tool and complete your application file.
    7. Validation: The host institution validates and submits the application before the deadline.
